Yoga sleep is a guided meditation to calm the nervous system.
Yoga nidra, or yoga “sleep”, is a guided meditation typically practiced laying down. This simple practice of allowing the physical body to be comfortable during meditation means that a lot of people find it “easier” than seated meditation. We are more quickly able to calm the nervous system and reap all the benefits.
Yoga Nidra can feel like that place between asleep and awake, during which we are both conscious and deeply at peace. It’s in this place that the mind and body are capable of profound healing.
